Projects

We here at Yamabushi have always tried to stay busy with various projects, from our early years making flyers for parties and cd covers for dj friends, to the present, having our designs transposed onto handbags and shoes and various other formats.

Around the turn of the millennium, Yamabushi began to seriously try to incorporate the computer in an effort to not only enhance the designs and create new art, but also as a tool to bring Yamabushi into the digital age. This shift into the digital has been important for our growth and ability to connect and collaborate with so many from around the planet. The following is a sampling of our work throughout the years, we hope you enjoy.

The Secret Life Of Sound Album Cover Art

Wonder Twins - This project was a mailer for a gallery show in Chicago. Showed some work there, but the actual original wondertwins design was stolen from the gallery.

Absolute -

Appa - Appa the elephant is a more recent project we had commissioned; we created several designs for both male and female. They're really nice folks who we look forward to working with in the future.

Featured in Lo Down Magazine Issue #54 -

Gravis - This design was commissioned by Gravis for a line of shoes in which this design was to be in the footbed. The theme of the project was summer of love meets dark future, and this design tries to encapsulate that idea. The design itself is a product of about seven different drafts. Prototypes were produced, but we're not sure if they were ever mass produced.

Vadobag - A company from the Netherlands known as Vadobag licensed several designs from us for use on pocketbooks, purses, and bags.

DJ Shoshinobu - We have designed 3 different cd covers for this crazy dj guy. He lets us run wild and we try to bring something different to the table with these.

Soundtribe Sector 9 -Soundtribe Sector 9 is an internationally known band that we've known for years when we were both starting out in the late 90's. We designed and printed their t-shirts and hoodies for a few years and these are a few of the designs we did for them. One even made it into the inside cover of their studio cd release.

Chalice - Another dj friend that wanted a design that we custom tailored to his musical tastes.
